ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical value of combined detection of serum miRNA-210 and miRNA-21 in non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods Forty-eight patients with NSCLC in the Bazhong Municipal Central Hospital were selected as the research subjects.Forty patients with benign lung diseases and 40 individuals undergoing healthy physical examination were selected as the control groups. The levels of serum miRNA-210 and miRNA-21were detected by RT-qPCR.Results The levels of serum miRNA-210 and miRNA-21 in the patients with NSCLC were significantly higher than those in the patients with benign lung diseases and healthy controls(P<0.05);serum miRNA-210 was highly expressed in adenocarcinoma and T3-4 stage patients(P<0.05) and miRNA-210 was highly expressed in adenocarcinoma,T3-4 stage and smoking patients(P<0.05);the area under the ROC curve(AUC) of miRNA-210 and miRNA-21 for diagnosing NSCLC was 0.845 and 0.725 respectively, but AUC of their combination was 0.928 (P =0.021);COX multivariate regression analysis showed that serum miRNA-210 (RR:1.977,95 % CI:0.985-3.018,P =0.009) and miRNA-21 (RR:1.853,95% CI:0.921-2.776,P =0.018) had some predictive value for the prognosis in the patients with NSCLC.Conclusion MiRNA-210 and miRNA-21 are highly expressed in serum of the patients with NSCLC.Their combined detection can have a certain diagnostic efficiency for NSCLC and have a certain prompt action on the prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the common reasons for misdiagnosis of atypical pulmonary embolism (APE) ,and to im‐prove the identification of APE .Methods The risk factors ,clinical manifestations ,laboratory examinations and radiographic data of 120 cases of APE diagnosed from January 2006 to December 2013 in the department of cardiovascular medicine and respiratory medicine of Xinqiao Hospital and the Affiliated Hospital of Luzhou Medical College were studied retrospectively .Results Among those 120 cases of APE ,39 cases were misdiagnosed on admission (32 .5% ) .8 cases were misdiagnosed as acute coronary syn‐drome ,7 cases as stable angina pectoris ,7 cases as chronic cor pulmonale ,5 cases as pneumonia ,3 cases as pleural effusion ,3 cases as tuberculosis ,3 cases as asthma ,1 case as atrial septal defect ,1 case as acute heart failure ,and 1 case as cardiogenic syncope .Con‐clusion APE is easy to be misdiagnosed for its non‐specific clinical manifestation .Pulmonary enhanced CT or CTPA should be car‐ried out in time for those highly suspected patients ,in order to reduce the misdiagnosis of APE .

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the treatment effect of zoledronic acid and letrozole on life quality of postmenopausal women with breast cancer operation. Methods:Totally 26 patients were in the control group, and given letrozole, and 23 patients were in the treat-ment group with zoledronic and letrozole. The patients in the two groups were assessed bone mineral density ( BMD) of hip and lumbar vertebrate before the treatment and the 6th and 12th month after the treatment. BALP, CTX, VAS, FACT-B and adverse reactions were also assessed at the 6th and 12th month after the treatment. Results:Improvement of BMD and FACT-B in the treatment group was sig-nificantly better than that in the control group. BALP, CTX and VAS in the treatment group were all decreased more significantly than those in the control group (P0. 05). Conclusion:By preventing bone loss and increasing BMD, the combination of zoledronic acid and letrozole can effectively im-prove the life quality of postmenopausal women with breast cancer operation.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the influence of all-trans retinoic acid(ATRA) on in-vitro proliferation of human lung adeno-carcinoma cell line A549 and to preliminarily study its mechanism .Methods The human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 was taken as the experimental group .The cells in the experimental group and the control group were detected by using 3-(4 ,5-dimethyl-thiazol-2-yl)-2 ,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay for calculating the cell growth inhibition rate ;the microstructure of the cultured cells was observed by the transmission electron microscope technique ;the expression of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) in the cell supernate was detected by the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay .Results The different concentrations of ATRA for treating A549 cells could produce the inhibiting effect on A 549 cells to some different degrees ,furthermore ,after 72 h ,the expression of COX-2 in cytoplasma among the various concentrations groups was significantly decreased ,which was positively correlated with the concentration ,the difference showing statistical significance (P< 0 .05);at the same time ,by detecting TRAIL expression level in the experimental group(1 × 10-5 mol/L ,1 × 10-4 mol/) ,the expression of TRAIL in the A549 cell supernate after ATRA treatment was increased .Conclusion ATRA has the significant anti-tumor effect on the lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 with the concen-tration-time dependence;ATRA in lung cancer tissue may play its anti-tumor effect by inducing apoptosis ,which can provide the theoretical basis for the treatment of lung cancer .
